Suggested 1-night itinerary

Onboard Paradise Privilege, you create your own personal cruising schedule. Here below is our classic 1-night itinerary that you can follow or modify according to your wishes. It should serve as a suggestion, to give you an idea of what your itinerary might look like:

FIRST DAY

Your heavenly journey into the wonders of Halong Bay commences at noon from Tuan Chau Island located at the doorstep of Vietnam's most iconic natural environment.

As the vessel sets sail on its set path winding through the limestone labyrinth, your Paradise Cruise Manager will introduce you to the crew who will be looking after you throughout your stay and strive to provide you with the highest standards of service for a purely pleasurable and relaxing experience amongst the stunning landscape of undulating islets and glittering emerald seas. During the afternoon discover some of the treasures disseminated across the bay like scattered pearls; fascinating caves, pristine beaches, picturesque floating villages, and fantastic rock formations rising up out of crystalline  water.

While onboard, you can take advantage at leisure of Spa, Beauty & Massage services at any time. With the sun all red fire and golden glory dripping down a darkening sky, you will have the opportunity to attend a chef's cooking demonstration where you may try your skills in the art of traditional Vietnamese cooking. If you are successful, this newfound ability becomes a most valuable souvenir, as it takes up no room in your suitcase but can impress any number of your friends and family!

Destined to be one of the highlights of your Paradise stay, a highly refined, innovative and varied cuisine will be presented for Lunch and Dinner in the elegant dining-room, accompanied by a wide selection of wines and beverages from around the world.

SECOND DAY

Early birds can attend a Tai Chi demonstration on the sundeck at the break of dawn. The ancient art of Tai Chi is widely practiced throughout Vietnam and is believed to be an ideal way to begin the day, to open up you the energy pathways within your body so you can work through the day’s activities with free spirit. Night owls may elect to draw the covers a little tighter and instead start the day with a strong coffee before enjoying some special Paradise delights at a colourful buffet breakfast. Continue sailing past the thousands of islets scattered like roughly hewn gemstones in the clear green water. Your Paradise Cruise will come to an end on Tuan Chau Island between 10.30am and 11.00am.

Suggested 2-nights itinerary

Onboard Paradise Privilege, you create your own personal cruising schedule. Here below is our classic 2-night itinerary that you can follow or modify according to your wishes.

Destined to be one of the highlights of your Paradise stay, a highly refined, innovative and varied cuisine will be presented for Lunch and Dinner in the elegant dining-room, accompanied by a wide selection of wines and beverages from around the world.

SECOND DAY

As sunrise breaks through a grey dawn and the islets emerge from the inky shadows of nightfall, a Tai Chi demonstration is held on deck. The ancient art of Tai Chi is widely practiced throughout Vietnam and is believed to be an ideal way to begin the day, to open up you the energy pathways within your body so you can work through the day’s activities with free spirit.  Enjoy a buffet breakfast on the main vessel before being transferred to the smaller and therefore swifter Paradise Explorer, which will act as your day boat and take you to some of the more secluded areas of the bay. Your first stop is Cat Ba island, where you will be dropped at Viet Hai jetty for your choice of cycling or driving a motorbike through the jungle to reach the rustic village nestled amongst the trees.Wander around the fields and houses, hike in the forest and into the dark green heart of Cat Ba National Park.

Back on Paradise Explorer, lunch will be served as the boat once again sets sail into the bay. Along the way, stop at Dark Cave & Light Cave area for kayaking, swimming or merely relaxing and soaking up the tranquil ambience.  Back on the main vessel once more, you may relax and enjoy the facilities at leisure. The bar will be open should you choose to sip an ice cold beer and watch the sunset from top deck, while the spa, massage & beauty services are also available for those wishing to pamper their bodies after an active day on the water.

A sumptuous dinner is served onboard followed by movie night, board games or just lying back with a fine wine and appreciating the mysterious beauty of the nightscape, moonlight splashing over seas black as sorrow, mountains silently writhing beneath an inky cape of darkness.

THIRD DAY

Early birds can attend a Tai Chi demonstration on the sundeck at the break of dawn.

Great trip

Yes
Our group of eight (four adults and four children 9 - 14) booked the Paradise Privilege cruise. Fairly expensive but very, very good. Kien looked after us superbly from start to finish. You feel like part of a vast "white boat" armada as you leave the port but our boat found a quiet cove with only one other boat anchored and we had a great few hours swimming and jumping off the boat, and kayaking. Kien was really great, and all of the staff were friendly and good humoured. The cooking lesson was fun, as was the introduction to violet rice wine. All of the food was well prepared and plentiful. The crabs for dinner were a highlight, and we knew they were fresh because we’d seen them trying to escape from their container earlier in the day! The boat is spotlessly clean, and well maintained. All in all, a great experience, and if budget allows, absolutely go for a small board like the Privilege. Halong Bay is crowded. Being on a private boat makes a huge difference. Our boat was able to moor at most places whereas the larger boats had to transfer passengers using shuttle barges. The road trip is boring and uncomfortable, but it is what it is. The half way stop is tolerable at best. I know the drivers need a rest - I would after driving for two hours on that mad road. But the food is boring, and the "cafe" is hotter than sitting outside. Just get a drink and melted chocolate bar or packet of chips and wait until you get to you destination. Visited July 2013
